Not to Be Lonely

As the saying goes ‘No man is an Island’… Each and every one of us in this life needs the help of others or feel the connection. A connection that will make us feel alive and part of the community by helping each other along and so allow our community to grow.

We are as humans’ part of a group. We belong to and need a group to survive. We only need look at our closest relatives the chimpanzee to see how they depend on each other’s help and protections to allow them to survive in the jungles of Africa.

Associating with People in Your Community

We can see many characters in their communities that we can directly associate with people in our communities. There will be the social character that is everyone’s friend, knows everyone and helps everyone, and there are the loners who like to sit alone and enjoy their own space, but in order to survive, even these ones need the support and help of the group in order to stay happy and healthy. No man is an island, nor should he have to be. And this applies to the Ladies too. We are hard wired to need people, so there is nothing to be ashamed of in saying that you are lonely.

Living in Society

There are many ways to live in our society much like in the chimp society. We have the go getters, the loud or the quiet, the energetic, the laidback, the social and the hermits. Each one has their own reason for being who they are. In some cases, they are born to be this person, and, in some cases, they find on their journey through life, that this life suits them better that the one they were raised to.

Being an Outcast

Sadly, one the darker side of our society, just like our cousin the chimps there are the outcasts. For whatever reason, some people feel they are not worthy of the company of others. This can have a devastating effect on their lives, as it is not a natural state for a human to be in.

Why People Are Outcasts?

Many things could have caused this. Perhaps they were hurt by a lover in the past and are afraid of being hurt again. Perhaps they can’t love themselves and therefor don’t believe anyone else can or should. Whatever the reason, one of the sad facts of society is that they are very often left there as it is assumed that this is the way they have chosen. Not many people take the time to ask them how they are feeling or what would they like their life to be like.

If you are one of these people who find yourself in a position where you are unhappy for whatever reason. There are a few things you need to remember.

(1)    You are not alone
(2)    This modern world has many avenues to happiness
(3)    Happiness is a right, it is yours, take it
(4)    You are not odd, you are unique
(5)    Someone out there is looking for that unique you.
(6)    If you don’t like something in your life, you can change it
(7)    Change takes time, but a small change today makes a wonderful tomorrow.

You can start the change today. If it is your weight that is holding you back, then start a small change today and add a new little change every day or two, and in no time at all you will start to see results. If you just lack confidence, then be assured that there are millions out there just the same as you. The main thing is to get yourself out there and mingle.

Get Mental Stimulation

The human mind does not function well if it is locked indoors all day.  We need the mental stimulation provided by other humans on a daily basis. If you are out of work, do not sit in the house. Rise early and take yourself out if only for a short walk to mingle with others, even if it is only to say hello.

Move, Move and Move

If you are somehow physically slowed down, then you can take your time in moving and if you only make it to the front porch to watch the wonder of the world go by, then you will have achieved something. It’s surprising how quickly you will start to interact with others once you enter into the great outdoors.

Final Thoughts

Of course, not everyone out there is a nice person. But there are a lot nicer people than there are bad ones. On the flip side, you could be the person who makes someone else’s day better, simply by saying hello or good morning.
